I’ve been sporadically recording for the past 3 years and those recordings are finally starting to take to take shape. So hopefully something will be released sometime in the next few months.
So 2012 is almost over and I’ll shortly be thumbing my nose at the Mayans. I had hoped to make an album or at the very least an EP but it didn’t happen, I only made two track that I felt were worthy of release (some may say neither are worthy of course) but at least it was for something special, the 5th anniversary of Rec72
I contributed two tracks to the album, including this one.
So if you like this, then you’ll love the album because all the other tracks are better than mine.
After many false starts, I finally have new music online. It’s a slight departure from my previous work, very minimal. I had to resist the temptation to keep adding extra layers and sounds.
Not sure where and when it will be released…………..but it will.
Some of you may or may not know that I used to be a part of Perfect Blue, not to be confused with the Anime movie which is where the name came from (not my choice) I was with the project for about 2 years and we made an EP Sunshine and one album On a Higher Plane (I always hated that title) I quit not long after the album so I could devote more time to nisei23
Since my departure all they’ve done is an EP of remixes by other people, they’re very good remixes but I’d be curious to hear some new and original material by them.
After only releasing EPs I’d been toying with the idea of making an album and after coming into contact with Net LabelRec72 I decided to make one, a lot of the tracks had already been recorded, some finished, some half finished and some like “Don’t Panic” were made especially for this album.
It’s entitled Soft Shapes and Rec72 is a Creative Commons label so that means it’s free to download.
